The debut release from Barbarossa Beat, ‘Phattie’s Lunchbox’ featuring Mekon, is a groove-driven collision of live percussion and electronic production that puts Dave Barbarossa’s legendary drumming front and centre.
Best known for his work with the original Adam and the Ants, Bow Wow Wow and Republica, Barbarossa launches this new project with a track that feels both contemporary and rooted in the rhythmic innovation that made his name.

Created alongside producer Mekon, ‘Phattie’s Lunchbox’ blends tribal beats, electronic textures and an infectious pulse, showcasing the creative freedom at the heart of Barbarossa Beat. It’s an intriguing first taste of a project that will see Dave collaborate with a different artist every month through to 2027.
