Our Artist of the Week is August Moon
August Moon are a Hebden Bridge-based duo made up of Richard Dalby and Maria Baggio, blending organic instrumentation with thoughtful songwriting to create music that sits somewhere between folk, psychedelia and alternative pop.
Their debut album, Mountain, introduces a sound built around intricate arrangements and understated melodies. ‘Distance’ is a standout example, pairing delicate acoustic textures with Maria’s distinctive vocals to explore the idea of searching for somewhere new.
With contributions from Michael Holcroft and Dan Brownrigg of Professor Yaffle, August Moon bring a collaborative spirit to their recordings, adding depth and colour to their already unique approach.
