Our Artist of the Week is Connie Campsie.  

Living in London, Connie Campsie is an alt-singer-songwriter who weaves dreamy neu-folk melodies with poetic cynicism, amazing audiences with her distinct musicality and introspective lyricism. 

In 2023, Connie released her debut EP, earning accolades such as ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone and a ‘HYPE Artist’ by Dork Magazine. Now, with her sophomore EP, Connie embarks on a new direction, collaborating with acclaimed producer Iain Berryman to craft a sound that is both refined and evocative. 

The recently released track, ‘Burner’ stands out as a testament to Connie‘s growth as an artist. This track delves into the complexities of post-breakup relationships, exploring the intricacies of maintaining a connection through social media.

Inspired by the concept of an Instagram ‘Burner‘ account, the song delves into the dissonance between perception and reality, shedding light on the deceptive nature of curated online personas. 

Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘Burner,’ Connie shares her candid thoughts, revealing the emotional turmoil behind the creation of the song. “It’s wild that the internet can give you a window to someone’s life like that—to their new life without you in it.” Connie’s raw honesty comes through as she grapples with the moral implications of her actions, juxtaposed with a fierce determination to confront the truth.

Our Artist of the Week is Bedroom Tax.  

Bedroom Tax is an eclectic 5-piece band known for their complex and dynamic sound, poignant lyrics, and compelling subject matter. Drawing comparisons to artists like Hak Baker, Arctic Monkeys, and The Streets, Bedroom Tax continue to push boundaries and defy expectations with each new release.  

Bedroom Tax emerges as a beacon of empowerment with their latest single, ‘Breathe.’ The lyrics serve as a celebration of the strength of women everywhere.

Composed by Sean Guy and featuring a dubby reggae bassline and Latin-inspired beats, ‘Breathe‘ introduces new flavors and softer sounds to Bedroom Tax’s repertoire. Artist of the Week is Pushpin

Our Artist of the Week is Pushpin.  

Pushpin is made up of four members hailing from London. Their dazzling, diverse, and mercurial stage performances have earned them invitations to venues across the UK. Their brand of psychedelic pop is solidified by their visual experimentation, with puppetry and DIY artwork embellishing their stages. 

Their latest single, ‘The Dance’, is a prime example of their audacious approach to music-making. Produced by the talented Joe Futak, this hyperactive duet between vocals and percussion is a sonic kaleidoscope, featuring an array of instruments including French horn, trombone, soprano sax, and violin, among others.

According to the band, ‘The Dance’ encapsulates the realisation that someone has changed and is now embracing new things. It’s a celebration of growth and evolution, wrapped in a package that will leave you tapping your feet and pondering life’s mysteries all at once.

Artist of the Week is Yasmine MB

Our Artist of the Week is Yazmine MB.  

Yazmine MB, the British-Algerian R&B/soul artist, has recently released her latest track, ‘WHAT’S IT LIKE TO DO NOTHIN’. This song offers a glimpse into her upcoming debut EP, ‘HEALER’, which is due on April 19th.  

In ‘WHAT’S IT LIKE TO DO NOTHIN’, Yazmine MB beautifully captures the struggle between exhaustion and the fear of missing out. Reflecting on her own experiences juggling multiple jobs as a teenager, she delves into the desire for freedom amidst the chaos of everyday life.

Artist of The Week is Coraland

Our Artist of the Week is Coraland.  

Andy Hobson, better known by his stage name Coraland, hails from the picturesque landscapes of Gloucestershire. He is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. 

From the tender age of 10, Andy discovered his innate talent for drumming, which set the stage for a lifelong passion for music. Drawing inspiration from life experience, he crafted ambient compositions that spoke volumes without uttering a word. 

Today, as Coraland, Andy’s music crosses conventional boundaries, blending elements of pop and rock with nuanced storytelling that tugs at the heartstrings.
