Artist of the Week is Wax Head
Our Artist of the Week is Wax Head.
Wax Head, the chaotic, drummer-fronted punk quartet from Manchester have dropped their latest single, Rusty Cutter.
Following the success of their debut EP, which was mastered by JJ Golden (Ty Segall, Osees) and earned them praise from BBC Radio 6’s Huw Stephens, Rusty Cutter is another raw, high-energy offering that solidifies their place in the underground scene.

With its angular, noisy, and treble-heavy guitars, the track blends garage rock and psych-punk influences, staying true to Wax Head‘s distinct sound. “We wanted to create something chaotic yet structured, merging our diverse influences under the umbrella of garage rock,” the band shared.
Wax Head are gearing up for their first European tour this October, including performances at Left Of The Dial in Rotterdam and Supersonic in Paris. Rusty Cutter continues to build on the band’s reputation for unmissable live shows, with raucous energy both on and off stage.
