Artist of the Week is Pavey Ark
Our Artist of the Week is Pavey Ark.
Hailing from Hull, Pavey Ark continue to carve out a cinematic indie-folk sound that feels both expansive and intimate, layering strings, horns and intricate rhythms into something quietly transportive. Drawing loose comparisons to Nick Drake and Radiohead, their identity ultimately sits in a space of their own.
Their second album, More Time, More Speed, marks a clear step forward. Largely self-recorded on a converted farm near Hull and shaped alongside Adrian McNally and Paul Butler, the record leans into themes of time, tension and renewal, balancing orchestral depth with raw, atmospheric space.
Lead single, ‘Your Sweet Time’, captures that balance perfectly – written in lockdown but full of warmth, it’s a moment of light and stillness amid uncertainty.

Off the back of acclaim, festival slots at Glastonbury Festival and international showcases like SXSW, plus a limited Record Store Day 2026 green vinyl release, Pavey Ark are fast becoming one of the UK’s most compelling alternative folk acts.
