Artist Of The Week: Slowdaze

Slowdaze is the alternative/electronica alias of British producer Alex Fish. Born from a love of crate digging, the music has hallmarks from many genres, sounding familiar yet fresh. Since beginning in 2019, Slowdaze has expanded into a musical collective, focused on collaboration and experimenting with different genres.

Slowdaze speeds things up both in tempo and volume in their latest single. Filled with atmospheric synths, staccato guitars, prominent percussion, vocal layers and other sonic nuances, this track will take you on a flight overlooking time-lapsed cityscapes.’Flick of the Light’ is reminiscent of indie alt rock band Mutemath, but with a calmer and more understated vocal performance. If you’re a fan of Jungle, Michael Kiwanuka, Radiohead and Leisure, you’re in for a treat. ‘Flick of the Light’ is only the second single from an EP coming out on 8th July. We can’t wait to hear the rest of this project.
