Our Artist of the Week is The Tern.
South London cousins Finlay Glen and Gabriel Pearcey formed The Tern in 2025, blending folk, rock and country into a distinctive roots-inspired sound.
Their debut EP, released on 14 August, sees The Tern embrace a bigger, fuller sound, with layered electric guitars produced by Ella Walker (Wildes), while retaining Glen’s observational songwriting. Standout track ‘Take What You Can Get‘ captures the band’s evolving sound and songwriting at its best.

The EP was completed just before the birth of Glen’s first child, with the songwriter sending notes on the final mixes from the antenatal ward at King’s the day before his son was born.
With their debut EP marking the beginning of this new chapter, The Tern are a band well worth keeping an eye on.
