Artist of The Week – August and After

‘Artist of the Week’ is indie-folk trio August and After, with their track ‘Wolves’.

Depicting the tension between inward feeling and outward expression, and the simultaneous comfort and longing that permeates emotional distance, ‘Wolves’ showcases the trio’s trademark three part harmonies and intricate orchestration. The story told by the lyrics is mirrored by the instrumentation underpinning it; from Vedantha Kumar’s poignant vocal intro, to the soaring passages of interwoven guitar, viola and piano, to the hauntingly beautiful finale, fragile and stripped back. With support from the likes of BBC Introducing and London Live, and a slot at The Secret Garden Party this summer just announced, the trio are set for exciting few months!
