Artist of the Week is Vacant Weekend
Our Artist of The Week is Vacant Weekend.
Following the success of their indie track ‘Talk,’ Manchester trio Vacant Weekend returns with ‘Funny Dad’, a heartfelt ballad from their upcoming summer EP.
The band describes ‘Funny Dad’ as a raw, emotional piece created through their close friendship, featuring bright indie guitar and Alex’s infectious vocals. The track covers themes of loss and indifference, expressed through a stream-of-consciousness style.

Vacant Weekend’s upcoming EP looks back at their journey of overcoming self-criticism and is filled with cathartic, high-energy tracks. The band, formed in 2018, draws inspiration from disco, Motown, and 2000s indie rock, crafting a unique funk-inspired sound.
After performing at festivals like Kendal Calling and Bluedot, Vacant Weekend is set for a UK tour starting June 14th in Newcastle. Their live performances, featuring a six-piece band, promise electrifying energy.
With support from Spotify, Apple Music, BBC Radio 6, and 370,000 TikTok plays for ‘Marlboro Reds’, ‘Funny Dad’ marks a significant step in the band’s development.
