Artist Of The Week is Vagrant Real Estate, a producer and DJ from Aberdeen, Scotland.

Backed by the likes of Ministry of Sound, DJ Mag, i-D Magazine, SB:TV, the BBC and the SAMAs / SAY Award, Vagrant Real Estate combines hard-hitting drums and programming with his ear for melody and soul to put his spin on a range of styles, from classic boom bap and UK garage to grime and UK drill, working with a wide array of artists including Remtrex, Nolay, Teks Sinatra, Ransom Fa, Skirmish of Rhyme Asylum, namesbliss and many more.

In 2019 Vagrant Real Estate released his sophomore instrumental album SWEETHEARTGRIPS to rave reviews, with premiere support from BBC Radio and front page coverage in Aberdeen’s Press & Journal newspaper, receiving several nominations for the SAY Award Longlist. Listen to the album here:

2020 saw a number of singles and collaborations both locally and further afield, and he closed out the year with the socially-charged Glass Half Full album for Buffalo NY artist Y.N.X. 716, produced entirely remotely through lockdown. With a number of new projects lined up for release this year and recently being selected for funding from Help Musicians UK, Vagrant Real Estate shows no signs of slowing down in 2022.
