From the same small square of Northern Manchester that in recent years has produced bands like The Chameleons, Northside and more recently, The Slow Readers Club, Y-Key Operators are making 2017 the year to step out of the shadows.

The band’s music is a reflection of the line up, with years of experience at the highest levels of the industry, a familiar Manchester sound with a millenial update. With nods to bands like New Order, Joy Division, The SexPistols, Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, the Y-Key Operators offer a powerful synth drive, with the twanging guitars, thudding basslines, frenetic drums and regional vocals fans of the Manchester sound will relate to.
