PALUMBO

London based international singer songwriter guitarist Dion Palumbo is the driving force behind award winning 7 piece funk rock group “Palumbo”. He is also guitarist for Bengali folk star “Shapla Salique”.
Solo, he performs inspired folk jazz blues rock, telling engaging and humorous stories about life, love and the Universe.

Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, he has travelled a long way performing music living in Sydney, Liverpool (UK), Manchester and London, as well as performing in Dublin, Galway, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Geneva and Paris. Notably performing at London 2012 Paralympics – 2 hours of his own original material.
And … as well as playing pubs, clubs and festivals, Palumbo also conducts therapeutic music sessions in dementia homes and mental health centres in North London.

July 2013 his song “Try it Out” received airplay on BBC Introducing from Gary Crowley who described Palumbo and the Funk as “a musical powerhouse”
In 2014, Palumbo’s self produced EP, “Rock the Funk” was nominated in the ‘Jazz/Funk/Fusion EP’ section of the 13th Independent Music Awards (IMAS) –

Self Released 2016 album ALL THE RAGE WE ARE continues to receive global airplay and has attracted interest in Palumbo’s work from industry professionals as well as music fans
Single “Get It Right” spent 3 weeks at number 1 on Dutch radio station “For the Love of Music” top 40

In 2017 Palumbo recorded “This Thing” based in the renown Berwick St Studios (Bowie, Sex Pistols) in Soho, London.
Recording commenced the morning after the legendary artist David Bowie’s passed away.
Ironically, “This Thing” is definitely influenced by and a tribute to the work of the late great songwriting master
