Artist of The Week is Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine
Our Artist of the Week is Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine.
Bristol’s quirkiest quintet, Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine, is back on February 14th with its electrifying new single, ‘There’s Less Trouble When You Stay At Home’, the first taste of its upcoming EP ‘Rear Meat’ (out on April 4th).
Blending the jittery energy of Talking Heads with its own brand of post- / egg-punk chaos, the track crackles with sharp guitars and punchy rhythms.
Listen to ‘There’s Less Trouble When You Stay At Home’ here:
Recorded in the basement of Bristol’s iconic Louisiana, the track pulses with raw, unfiltered energy, shifting from twitchy post-punk into a math-rock explosion reminiscent of Foals’ ‘Antidotes’ era.
True to its spirit, drummer Seamus sums it up best: “Being facetious is our most important ingredient – this EP is the next installment of our ridiculous journey.”
With support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, and The Unsigned Guide, Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine is proving that fun and chaos make for an unmissable combination.
