Artist of The Week is Sophie Kilburn
Our Artist of the Week is Sophie Kilburn.
Sophie Kilburn, the Derbyshire-born, indie-rock singer-songwriter, has just released her latest single, ‘Still in the City’, from her upcoming EP, ‘Don’t Make Me Angry’.
Produced by Oli Deakin, known for his work with CMAT and Liz Lawrence, the track marks a significant milestone in Kilburn’s career.
‘Still in the City‘ is a self-worth anthem featuring rocky guitars, sweeping vocal harmonies, and a punchy singalong chorus. The song combines Sophie’s love for classic rock and synth-pop, inspired by legends like Alanis Morissette and Tracy Chapman, with modern, thought-provoking lyrics.
Listen to ‘Still in the City‘ here:
Sophie describes the song as reclaiming memories and places after a relationship ends. ‘I wanted to write my own story that gives people the strength to move on from a bad relationship and reclaim the things or places that make them happy,’ she explains.
‘Still in the City‘ reinforces Sophie Kilburn’s status as a rising star in indie rock. Look out for the release of her upcoming EP ‘Don’t Make Me Angry’ on October 10th.
