Artist of The Week is Own World
Our Artist of the Week is Own World.
Own World, a band born from the upheaval of a subsiding flat, found their musical identity in an unlikely place: an industrial estate in Tottenham. Comprising Joe Sigee on vocals and guitar and Matthew Lawrenson on synths and backing vocals at first, they were later joined by Alex Bailey on bass and Holly Hardy on drums.
Own World quickly made their mark with their debut track ‘In Style’. They followed this up with singles ‘SIMULATE’ and ‘No Behaviour’, each expertly mixed by Wilma Archer and Lxury (Andy Smith), the band’s momentum soared, resulting in a sold-out headline show in London.
Now, Own World unveils ‘Low Sun’, the lead track from their debut EP, recorded in a remote mountainside cottage in Wales. This new release promises to expand their sonic palette while staying true to their innovative spirit.
