Artist of the Week is Marouli
Our Artist of The Week is Marouli.
Manchester-based, seven-piece Marouli return with ‘Something Serious’ – a vibrant, genre-blurring single. Led by acclaimed composer and vocalist Graham McCusker – whose credits include Hans Zimmer, Clean Bandit, and original scores for Netflix, BBC, and Apple TV – the band fuses indie, funk, soul, and orchestral pop with playful precision.
The track builds from Bowie-style guitars and swaying drums into a triumphant chorus packed with brass, gospel vocals, and an explosive guitar solo, balancing infectious energy with intricate arrangement.

It’s the first taste of their upcoming 2025 album Tall Tales from a Distant Uncle Volume 2, a project inspired by Billy Connolly’s storytelling and shaped by McCusker’s recent recovery from cancer. “Each song is a ‘tall tale’ – a miniature moment in time,” he explains.
For fans of Paul Simon, Bon Iver, and Elbow, ‘Something Serious’ is a dazzling entry point into Marouli’s world – a rich, joyful sound crafted by master musicians who clearly love what they do.
