Artist of the Week is Lucas Button.
Lancaster-born songwriter Lucas Button grew up in a musical household, raised by a guitarist father and fiddle-playing mother. Inspired by the likes of Nick Drake, Richard Hawley and Sufjan Stevens, he cut his teeth playing pubs and venues across the county before earning a spot as a Sofar Sounds alumni.
Now he’s stepping forward with his debut EP, Camouflage (out 7th November). Leading the way is first single ‘Negative Funds’, produced by Tim Bidwell (Matthew and the Atlas, Memorial, Lucy Rose).

Of the EP, Lucas says it’s “an attempt to capture what’s often kept hidden… revealing beneath the skin of a young man navigating love, loss, homesickness and the bewildering pace of the city.”
With early support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Lancashire, and live slots with Michael & Michelle, Lucas’ momentum is building fast. He’ll cap off 2025 with his biggest headline yet at St. Pancras Old Church, London on 14th November.
