Artist of The Week is Grete
Our Artist of the Week is Grete.
Grete was born and raised in Lithuania and her love for music began at the age of three. Her career as a young performer and artist swiftly catapulted her onto Lithuania’s largest stages, where she appeared in musical theatre, TV competitions, and the finals of The Voice of Lithuania. Grete took the risk of moving to the UK in search of a new beginning, and she is now enrolled at the Royal Northern College of Music to study pop music vocals.
‘How Long‘ explores a darker, more twisted sound realm as the second of three planned singles preceding her debut EP. Using discordant chords, sharply distorted guitar lines, and a crescendo that intertwines powerful drums, a steady bass, and Grete‘s soaring vocals, the song builds on the emotion of her debut single.

Lyrically, ‘How Long‘ captures the aggravation of being confined within a relationship’s emotional barriers. Instead of taking the simpler route of looking away, Grete takes the listener through a clear image of the fantasy that would materialise if those boundaries were removed.
Grete easily incorporates the sounds of singers such as Halsey, MARO, Yebba, and Jazmine Sullivan into her own style. Be on the lookout for her soon-to-be debut EP, which promises to be an extension of the experience she has so expertly created.
