Artist of The Week is George Alfie
Our Artist Of The Week is George Alfie.
At just 9 years old, George embarked on a path less traveled, leaving the corridors of formal education to pursue a different kind of learning – one steeped in the art of connection.
George Alfie, who was raised in Guildford’s colourful surroundings, found comfort in the indie genre, where his passionate lyrics and painstaking attention to detail won over listeners everywhere. George’s musical journey has been interspersed with achievements and honours, ranging from the broadcasts of BBC Introducing to the stages of Future Hits Radio.
‘Meant to Be (With Me)’, released on February 9th, is his most recent single and is evidence of his artistic talent. The song, a moving meditation on unrequited love, captures the bittersweet feeling of loss and desire. “I wrote this song about falling in love with someone I couldn’t be with” says George.

George Alfie and his bandmates infuse sophisticated guitar licks and soul-stirring drum fills into their compositions, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sam Fender, Arctic Monkeys, and The 1975.
Every chord in George Alfie’s delicate music is a brushstroke, every song a confession. It is an area where light and shadows dance together, and dreams and reality collide. His music is about “creating space for people to be seen, to make sure no one feels like a ghost in a room full of people” – in George’s own words.
