Artist Of The Week is Bertie
Our Artist Of The Week is Bertie!
At 18, just 2 days after finishing his A-Levels, Bertie played Glastonbury music festival. His musical journey did not begin there, however. Singing Jewish songs with his family around the shabbat table from as early as he can remember, Bertie became the boy soprano in his synagogue choir aged just 6.
After graduating from Oxford University and starting a stable job in finance, Bertie promptly realised it was making him very unhappy, so he quit to pursue his true passion, music. In his first year of making music, he has had over 55,000 streams, played a headline show Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s, won the Yamaha Music UK Emerging Artist Competition and enjoyed support from BBC Introducing.

He makes indie pop music and is tipped to have an electrifying year. He is kicking it off with his biggest headline show to date, releasing a live session together with War Child Records, and has a string of brilliant releases planned. As a 2023 Yamaha Music Ambassador he will also be working closely with the brand on a range of exciting projects.
