Our Artist of the Week is Alffa.
After nearly five years, North Wales rockers, Alffa, have made a powerful return with their latest single, ‘Breathe Free’, released on August 9th. Following the success of their Welsh anthem ‘Pwythau’ earlier this year, ‘Breathe Free’ kicks off a series of new releases leading up to their highly anticipated sophomore album in November.
‘Breathe Free’ is a potent mix of punk-rock energy and hard-rock grit, echoing the intensity of Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood. Beyond its blistering sound, the track explores the universal struggle for self-acceptance, and serves as a rallying cry to embrace and celebrate one’s true self.

Hailing from the small village of Llanrug, Alffa ‘s debut single, ‘Gwenwyn’, came out in 2018 and was the first Welsh-language song to surpass a million streams on Spotify.
With ‘Breathe Free’, they are setting their sights on the global stage, ready to prove that their music can resonate far beyond the Welsh-language arena.
