Artist of the Week is The Usual Boys
Our Artist of the Week is The Usual Boys.
This international group – comprising Alexi Oksanen from Finland, Ethan Dalziel from Scotland, Patrick Pevsner from England and Rasmus Schmidt from Sweden – has been making waves in the indie scene with their unique blend of janky guitars, driving bass lines, and a dark, post-ironic take on the tumultuous journey into adulthood.
The Usual Boys honed their craft by opening for notable bands like The Undertones, The Happy Fits, and The Bluestones. This past summer, the band embarked on a successful UK headline tour, spanning five dates and leaving a lasting impression on audiences across the country.
The band’s featured track, ‘How High,’ defies expectations with its left-of-centre rock sound, pairing sophisticated riff motifs with a disco-derived bass line. Front man Aleksi Oksanen’s charismatic baritone voice complements the song’s dynamic interplay of rhythm guitars, funky bass, and percussive touches.
