Artist of the Week is English Weather
Our Artist of the Week is English Weather.
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on a delightful indie folk duo that goes by the name of English Weather. Hailing from the artistic hub of Bath, England, this talented duo met at art college and has been creating music ever since.
English Weather’s music is like a breath of fresh air, combining catchy tunes, beautiful harmonies, and a complete, rich sound that transports you back to the genuine songwriting style of the 1960s. Their inspirations, from artists like Nick Drake, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Elliott Smith, have influenced the band’s songwriting style, resulting in evocative storytelling and heartfelt melodies.
Listen to ’Start The Car’ here:
‘Start The Car‘ takes you on a journey of escapism, longing to leave the stresses of modern life behind and hit the open road with someone you love, with no destination in sight. The duo recorded ‘Start The Car‘ earlier in the spring as part of their 4-track EP ‘Little One’. They used all live takes, real instruments and minimal percussion to create an authentic, dreamy ambience that captures the essence of getting away from it all.
For those in Swindon, don’t miss their performance at Swindon Shuffle (The Tuppenny) on September 16th at 4pm.
