Our Artist Of The Week is SELK
SELK are based in Dublin and have released three singles from their album ‘Shed the Skin’, which is out on June 21st.
‘Moments‘, the latest single, is a re-work of Anna’s composition that was originally released in 2020, which featured a collaboration between Jordan and the esteemed composer Javier Navarrete, who arranged a stunning orchestral score to complement the piece. This new rendition of ‘Moments’ is the full band version and brings a fresh, unique sound that stands apart from the original.

Recorded in one take in Michael Buckley’s studio (House of Horns) as a four-piece, with Anna (uke/vocals), Dennis Cassidy (glock/kit), Barry Brady (guitar) and Dave Redmond (bass), ‘Moments’ really captures that live feel, moving between the intimacy of Anna’s vocal performance and the powerful energy of the band.
Here’s what Anna had to say: “‘Moments’ feels like a reminder for me to stop, pause and take things in. I don’t want to have too much regret that I never lifted my head above the chaos…”
