Artist Of The Week is Davy Lyons
Our Artist Of The Week is Davy Lyons!
Davy Lyons is an Irish songwriter, musician, poet, and actor. Family gatherings in his childhood, where music was always vital, are the root of his creative endeavours. His first dream was to become a professional footballer, but he went on to complete a Masters degree in law at University College Dublin, Lyons with first-class honours instead. He then abandoned the gavel for the guitar and began a spiritual journey across Europe that brought him to live and make wine in a Tuscan castle and stay for four months in the mythic Parisian bookshop, Shakespeare and Company, which has welcomed wandering writers such as Allen Ginsberg, James Baldwin, and Anaïs Nin.
Listen to his track, ‘Glorious, here:
‘Glorious’ is a song to open the heart, it’s a journey for the soul, it feels good for you. The pace starts slowly, speaking of the power of nature and the beauty of love. It then builds layer upon layer of electric guitar, vocals, and violin into a stunning chorus that sings to the heavens about how blessed we are to be here on earth, right here, right now. Davy’s voice bears a strong resemblance to Nate Ruess, frontman of the brilliant band, FUN. He has lots more music online so do go and have a listen.
